Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email sent to us for the purpose of responding. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive certain technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show how visitors move through the website, including which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for reporting. Cookies can be blocked through browser settings, although doing so may change how some website features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the appropriate partner service
- Maintaining the website and improving load performance
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Understanding which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
White County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It provides general directions to records held by the White County Sheriff's Office, White County courts, the Arkansas Department of Public Safety Division of Arkansas State Police using ACIC records, and the Arkansas Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not used to create consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the White County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas court portals, state agencies, legal aid organizations, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows such a link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing takes place through the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that place ads on website pages
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security measures to protect collected information. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied personal data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Arkansas consumer-protection rules, including the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Ark. Code Ann. ยง 4-88-101 et seq., may apply to covered conduct. You may ask us to:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised. An updated copy will appear here with a new effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically for changes.
